Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY was originally founded as Soul Rebel Performance Troupe in 2010 by veteran actor Jean-Remy Monnay as a not-for-profit organization to foster understanding, appreciation and participation of the performing arts among communities of color. Headquartered in New York State’s Capital Region, Black Theatre Troupe promotes performance and theatrical pieces by, and about, artists of color.

Create A Space NOW is an interactive social justice platform, creating art to combat bias, racism, and systemic oppression. We believe that dance, music, theater, spoken word, text, and film are powerful tools for communication that should not be for entertainment value only. We use these art forms to inspire change, educate, and activate.

I am a multidisciplinary artist creating art and art spaces through poetry, visual art and theater/performance. My work aims to inspire change, foster space to heal, and engage community growth. I have physical merch and info on how folks can support my creative sustainability but in addition to my independent work as an artist, I can have information available about The Fish Market Project, Black Dimensions in Art, and the Social Justice Artists Collective.

Founded in 2016, Pitney Meadows Community Farm in Saratoga Springs spans 166 acres dedicated to agricultural education, healthy food production, community connection, and recreation. Preserved as a working farm, we focus on sustainable, regenerative farming, community engagement, and environmental stewardship. Our vision is to operate an organic farm using sustainable methods to improve yield and enhance soil fertility while providing fresh, organic produce to the local community. With a steadfast commitment to food sovereignty, we partner with many local organizations and community centers to offer multi-faceted programming and initiatives to work towards a more resilient local food system for our community. We offer year-round programs on agriculture, conservation, and nutrition, the arts, and much more. By preserving wildlife areas and agricultural viewsheds, practicing sustainable farming, and encouraging community participation and involvement, we aim to enhance local food security and foster community collaboration and volunteerism.

Rebuilding Together Saratoga County assists homeowners in Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties with critical home repairs and accessibilities needs to stay safe, warm, and dry.

Saratoga Children’s Literacy League (SCLL) is a non-profit organization created by Erin Smith and Debra Nicastro. SCLL serves the children of Saratoga County by providing them with free books regardless of income level. The goal is to support the growth of children’s home libraries to build a culture of reading for enjoyment AND to promote academic and personal growth. SCLL volunteers refurbish donated books to make them like new.

The Saratoga Immigration Coalition, a network of civic groups, faith communities and concerned individuals, seeks to foster, through support, education and advocacy, a community that is welcoming to all immigrants without regard to legal status.

Saratoga Joinery is a community woodworking shop with a mission to make woodworking accessible to all. Through classes and membership, Saratoga Joinery provides a safe, inclusive and collaborative space for makers with varied experience levels to learn, connect, inspire and expand their woodworking skills.

We host a number of events around Saratoga Springs, surrounding the UN International Day of Peace. Past events have included a Peace Fair, movie screenings and discussions, comedians, yoga in the park, drum circles, musicians, and collaboration with the moon catcher project.

Sustainable Saratoga is a not-for-profit organization that promotes sustainable practices and the protection of natural resources, through education, advocacy and action, for the benefit of current and future generations in the Saratoga Springs area. Our programs are centered around five areas of sustainability: zero waste, pollinators, urban forestry, land use, and climate and energy. We host or co-host a number of annual community events including Tree Toga, the Saratoga Sustainability Fair, Pollinator Palooza, Saratoga Recycles Day, and Repair Cafe.
